Our approach

The Support System provides access to high quality clinical supervision, training and consultation by matching clinically trained professionals (for example clinical or counselling psychologists) with the needs of your organisation.

We will work with you to fully understand your organisational needs and your hopes for our service.  It may be that Dr Mel Claxton works with you directly, but if this is not possible or we think that someone else would be a better match, then we will link you to a psychologist that has experience or specialism in your area of work.

The Support System only works with doctorate-level professionals who have at least 6 years of formal study and usually at least 5 years post-qualification experience. All our psychologists hold a doctorate in their clinical subject, work therapeutically with clients as part of their work and are experienced in providing supervision, training and consultation.

The Support System ensures that all the psychologists and consultants we work with are highly trained in their clinical field. All our psychologists hold the required qualifications that are recognised by the appropriate professional memberships (usually the Health Care Professionals Council, HCPC).

All psychologists maintain their own caseloads to work with schools and organisations directly but if you are unhappy or do not feel there is a good match then you can just get in touch. If the issue cannot be resolved, we will work with you to find an alternative psychologist.
