Clinical supervision

Clinical supervision (also referred to as reflective practice or psychological supervision) is a method of supporting staff so that they can best support the people they work with. Supervision aims to develop knowledge, skills and confidence at work. As well as recognising the personal and emotional impact of their role, staff are supported to explore difficulties in their work, look for what is working well and build on that. It is a protected space to explore their work but is not therapy.

Supervision works best when a good relationship is built with the supervior. We therefore recommend booking a block of supervision sessions - ideally a minimum of 6-12.

Sessions are up to one hour and usually occur monthly. They take place online and can be arranged at times that are mutually convenient. If you prefer in-person then get in touch.

Consultation

Being able to consult on cases with a psychologist enables the development and maintenance of psychologically-informed skills.  It can help think about a case from a different point of view. This can be especially useful when staff might be feeling ‘stuck’ with cases. We offer consultation around difficult or complex cases or issues when staff or teams may be feeling unsure about what to do next.

These sessions are up to two hours long. They can be a one-off consultation or a series of consultations. This can be done with individual staff or with a team.
